On the practical side, most EU countries are becoming tired of the endless wars in the Middle East that are spreading into north Africa. The first reason for bin Laden’s 9-11 attack was US support for Israel; the second was US bases on the Arabian Peninsula; and the third was US support for Muslim dictators and kings.
